ThisOven Roasted Turkey Breast is perfect for smaller crowds...packed full of flavor, juicy and super easy too!
Thanksgiving week is my family’s favorite time of the year. My girls and I love our time together prepping and preparing all of the wonderful foods on the days leading up to the big day. Well, a few years back, I discovered the best thing ever...roasting a whole turkey breast instead of a full whole turkey. Oh my goodness, this is a dream come true! Let me tell you why...
Why I Love A Whole Turkey Breast Verses A Full Whole Turkey
Smaller - This is so wonderful for smaller crowds or families...so much easier and quicker!
Less Work - I love that it takes little time to prepare and cook. This gives me extra time with all the fixings and more time to spend with my family.
More Space - It's so great that a smaller turkey leaves more space in your fridge and oven on Thanksgiving day.
Best Taste - A smaller turkey turns out so flavorful, juicy and has the best crispy skin.
Less Expensive - The prices for a full sized turkey are ridiculous...especially one that is raised properly. I love that a whole turkey breast is very affordable and the perfect size for my family.

Pat the turkey with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
In a small bowl, mix together avocado oil, sea salt and pepper and rub all over top of the turkey.
Roast the turkey for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.
Turn your oven temperature up to 500 degrees and finish cooking the turkey for 20 to 30 minutes. This will also crisp up the skin. (see recipe notes)
Remove the turkey from the oven and check the temperature with your Digital Meat Thermometer . Make sure the temperature reads 160 degrees.
Cover the turkey loosely with foil and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
Garnish with fresh thyme and enjoy!
Notes
All ovens vary and depending on the size of your turkey breast will determine how long it needs to cook. It will be finished cooking when it reaches 160 degrees. Cook longer if needed. A Digital Meat Thermometer is a must! Also, you can baste with more avocado oil to finish the cooking process if you prefer. Sometimes I do this when browning the skin.
