Paleo gravy is perfect over roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and Thanksgiving dressing...it takes any dish right over the top!
Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without my Paleo Turkey Gravy! There's nothing better than topping my Southern "Cornbread" Dressing with the most delicious gravy. It definitely takes the dressing right over the top.
What You Need To Make Paleo Turkey Gravy
avocado oil
chicken broth
arrowroot starch
almond milk
sea salt
How To Make Paleo Turkey Gravy
Heat avocado oil over medium heat. Whisk in arrowroot flour until slight bubbling, about 1-2 minutes.
Slowly add in chicken broth and whisk until completely smooth. Gravy will be clumpy at first, but will become smooth after about 2-3 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and add almond milk to thin out the gravy a bit to give the gravy a creamier texture.
Add sea salt to your liking and serve hot over turkey anddressing. Don't skimp on the salt. (see recipe notes)
Why This Gravy Is So Great
This gravy is gluten, grain and dairy-free, but you would never know it.
It's made with just 5 ingredients and so quick and simple to make.
Homemade gravy is waaay healthier.
It is so delicious over so many things, like roasted turkey, Thanksgivingdressing and mash potatoes.
Tips for The Best Gravy
If you need to make the gravy thinner, just add a little more broth or almond milk. Or, to make it thicker, stir together a tablespoon of arrowroot starch with two tablespoons of broth in a small glass or bowl. You will then add it to the sauce pan and whisk.
As the gravy sits, it thickens a bit. I just heat it back up and add a little almond milk and it's good to go.
And of course, it is so beautiful when served in agravy boat!
