Simple, healthy and packed full of flavor, these Paleo Beef Burgers -N- Cabbage are a favorite around here... Whole30 & Low Carb!
This may be one of the easiest and inexpensive meals you will ever make. Oh, and the flavor! I know you’re gonna love these delicious Beef Burgers -N- Cabbage!
With each meal that I prepare for my family, I like to make sure to have a protein such as chicken, beef, eggs, wild-caught salmon or venison. And then I always pair the protein up with healthy fats & a nutritious vegetable.
So for the most important part: the protein. There are many studies showing that protein is essential for your body, including controlling blood sugar levels to healing wounds and fighting off bacteria. There was a time my family tried the vegetarian lifestyle...it didn’t go so well. That’s another blog post for another day. Healthy organic proteins such as chicken, beef, venison, eggs, and fish provide adequate amounts of protein and I try to incorporate them with each meal.
What You Need To Make Paleo Beef Burgers -N- Cabbage
I spread this special "cheese" sauce over the burgers for flavor and also use for extra dipping sauce for the fries. It's amazing how after it has finishing cooking on the burgers, it looks just like cheese.
Several years back, I eliminated white potatoes from my diet except for an occasional treat. White potatoes are very high in carbohydrates and natural sugar which drives up inflammation markers in the body, not to mention weight gain...therefore we don't eat a lot of white potatoes around here anymore. I go more into detail about this in my latest soup post, my low-carb Creamy “No Potato” Soup Recipe. So be sure to check that out as well.

How To Make Paleo Beef Burgers -N- Cabbage
First, slice your sweet potatoes and set aside so they can be ready to go in the oven at the same time as your burgers. Click this link, Crispy Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries for recipe. (See recipe notes)
Next, preheat oven to 375.
Prepare baby cabbage by cutting into 4 rounds and lay on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
In a small bowl, mix the beef ingredients to your meat. With your hands, make four beef patties and lay on top of the cabbage rounds.
Prepare sauce and spread a good amount over the patties. Save the remaining sauce for a dipping sauce for the sweet potatoes fries.
Bake the burgers and the fries at the same time for 35 to 40 minutes. Make sure to follow my Crispy Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries recipe which says to flip the fries over halfway through baking. (See recipe notes) When everything has finished cooking, take out of the oven and serve with the extra dipping sauce. Enjoy!
I can't tell you how many times I hear people say that eating healthy is too expensive. This meal right here proves that kind of thinking wrong. This whole meal, (grass-fed beef, 2 sweet potatoes, 1 onion and 1 baby cabbage), cost me less than $15.00 total, which means that my family of four had a very healthy nutritious meal all for around $3.50 each.

Notes
Click this link, Crispy Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries for recipe. In the sweet potato fry recipe, you will notice that I bake the sweet potato fries at 450. In this beef burger recipe, I bake everything at 375 degrees, including the fries. You don't want to cook grass-fed beef at too high of a temperature because the meat will turn out tough. The fries will crisp up just as well at 375 degrees... just make sure to put them on the bottom rack of the oven to achieve the perfect crispiness since it's a little bit lower temperature. Also, make sure to flip the fries halfway through baking.
