PICKUP TRUCK DATE NIGHT (Ultimate Romantic Date Night)

If you're looking for a creative, fun and thoughtful way to share an anniversary or special event, a pickup truck date is the perfect romantic date-night that is sure to impress.

This is one of my favorite anniversary dates ever! My amazing daughters turned their daddy’s old Ford pickup truck into the most gorgeous fairytale setting. The delicious food, cozy blankets, string-lights, old photos...they thought of EVERYTHING!

Our girls worked so hard pouring their heart and soul into this!  We were pampered, catered to and spoiled all day long, (on our 21st anniversary). Not only did they turn their daddy’s old Ford truck into a gorgeous fairytale setting, the food was exquisite, (they even prepared and cooked all of the food)! 

It was the sweetest gift from our daughters because they wanted us to be able to celebrate our anniversary even though we were in the middle of a pandemic, (not to mention that most every restaurant was shut down). It truly was an anniversary we will never forget. They made it so incredibly special. I just wanted to take a moment to share with you our special day...giving you all the details in case you ever want to surprise your special someone with a pickup truck date.

What Is A Pickup Truck Date?

Well, it's pretty self explanatory...a date in the back of a truck with the one you love. If you have a truck, then you are halfway there! If you don't own a truck, you could always borrow one.

Why Have A Truck Date

A pickup truck date is the perfect date when you want to go above and beyond to impress the one you love. There is a little more thought into making this kind of date extra special than your typical restaurant date. You can't help but feel extra loved when someone takes the time to put all of this together just for you.

The wonderful thing about a truck date is you can set it up anywhere and at any time. You don't have to worry about reservations, crowded restaurants, or even the hour. Our girls set everything up in the evening when it was a bit cooler, but made sure we had plenty of daylight before it was dark. They found the perfect view in one of our fields to park the truck...making sure to find a most beautiful spot. If you live out in the country like we do, keep in mind the darker it gets, the more bugs...they are worse the farther out you live! This particular night was just so beautiful, the sky, the clouds and everything about this night was so perfect.

• basket for mini table
• pop-up mesh food cover
• ice bucket
• banner (optional)
• meal & dessert (already prepared or have someone prepare it)

Our daughters thought of everything. From the cozy blankets, old photos, string lights, candles, flowers, anniversary banner and the food! We were served a fresh fruit tray followed by a gourmet dinner, my oldest daughter's amazing avocado-lime grilled chicken. It was absolutely delicious! Of course, you do not have to go this extreme, especially if you do everything yourself. Finger foods would work great too..much easier as well! Our girls made sure to have our favorite love songs playing in the background which only made the night extra special. I highly recommend!

After we were served dinner, we talked, reminisced, laughed and had the best time. It was truly the best night and one of our favorite anniversaries ever!

As the evening went on, we were served dessert, (made by my youngest daughter). She makes the absolute best chocolate chip cookies and she topped it off with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce, (everything gluten & dairy-free of course)!

Later on, after we enjoyed our dessert, our daughters joined us and we had some great conversations together and definitely wonderful memories that we will never forget. Out of all of our anniversary dates, this one is for sure at the top of the list of being a favorite. Nothing speaks love more than acts of service and our girls showed their caring and loving ways through this whole experience. I highly recommend this idea to anyone wanting to step up their game for their loved one, (especially spouses). I think it's the ultimate idea for a husband to do for their wife, especially if you do the same restaurant thing year after year. Just think how special your wife would feel if you, out of nowhere, put together a date like this. I promise you, men, you will score some points...trust me!
