How To Transform Your Countertops Into Marble

DIY Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Marble Countertops! Painting over granite is possible!

Our once rustic home design is now being transformed, room by room, into a modern farmhouse look.  We are so excited to share with you our bathroom makeover.  What we love about it most is getting this elegant look, not to mention all the money we saved by doing it ourselves.

A few years back, I had a vision and lots of ideas about doing a home makeover...beginning with the kitchen. I started sharing my thoughts with my husband. He wasn't completely onboard at first, mainly because of the unknown, (whether it was doable or not). But, you should hear him now...he's just blown away at how it turned out and is always telling me he's so glad we went through with it. He even made the comment how colors of a room really do have an effect on your mood.

We started out by painting our walls in every room of the house, followed by painting the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Next, it was time to think about what to do with the counters. We thought we would replace them with marble counters until we found out how much it would cost to do it. The price was definitely not in our budget. So, I started researching online on how to do them ourselves. That's when I came across Giani Countertop Paint Kit. They offer a granite countertop paint kit that folks have had great success with...all for just under $200.00!

What Is Giani Countertop Paint Kit

  • Giani Countertop Paint is a simple, three-step application that will transform Formica, laminate, Corian, ceramic tile, butcher block, cultured marble, and traditional granite in a single weekend.
  • Project can be completed for only $200.00
  • Looks exactly like real marble.

Supplies Needed To Complete This Project

That's it! The wonderful thing about the Giani paint kit is it has everything you need all in one box. Upgrading your countertops on a budget is now super easy and can be completed in a matter of a couple of days.

I was so thrilled and knew we had to give it a shot. What did we have to lose? I did not want the kitchen counters or our bathroom counters staying the way they were. We started with our kitchen counters and I have to say, the end result exceeded our expectations. I have NEVER seen any countertop look as beautiful as these. So, now that we had finished our kitchen counters, it was time to move on to our bathroom. Here is what our bathroom countertops looked like before. Keep in mind that our cabinets and walls were an oak stain as well. You you can imagine how exciting is was to give this room a complete makeover, adding light and brightness to this space.

I had professional after professional telling me the only thing that could be done is to replace them, that it would cost at least $5000.00 and probably more. They all said I absolutely could not paint over granite. Well, first of all when you tell me something can't be done, that makes me want to do it even more so.

And here is the finished look and I LOVE it!

This paint kit also allowed me to redo my vanity as well. Here is a before photo below.

I added a few special touches and I have so enjoyed getting ready at my vanity. And to know that we did this ourselves is so very rewarding.

And remember the professionals I told you about? They were pretty impressed.

Many of you have commented on the changes in my kitchen and bathroom...even asking me where I purchased my beautiful "marble" countertops. So, we are very excited to share with you our second Giani project, our bathroom counters, (even though we are not completely finished yet). We are finally to the fun part...adding special touches along the way. I love changing out the decor pieces from time to time, especially as the seasons change. Plus, since I saved money by doing the project this way, I saved extra cash to do so!
