Simple, delicious and very inexpensive, these Salmon Patties are so easy to make and a much healthier version too!

My mother-n-law first introduced me to salmon patties and I was hooked! I loved it when she would cook them for supper for us. I have since then made them my own, on the healthier side of course, but you would never know the difference! Salmon patties traditionally are made with bleached-white flours and cooked in inflammatory oils which can cause all kinds of health concerns. With just a few ingredients swaps, these can be a very healthy entree.

  • Quick Recipe - Ready in just 20 minutes.
  • Budget-Friendly - This meal is an inexpensive lunch, dinner or snack.
  • Canned Salmon - I love that I can use canned salmon and get the same great nutrients and taste...much quicker too!

My Healthier Swaps

In traditional Salmon Patties, the recipe would call for vegetable or peanut oil. These two oils are highly inflammatory, so I only cook with avocado oil in recipes like this one. Also, instead of the usual bread crumbs or white-bleached four, I use almond flour which adds more protein and keeps these gluten free. Read about my favorite Real Food Flours here.
